Natural Hemorrhoid Treatment

Hemorrhoids or piles are very common today. Although it may be quite embarrassing this problem must be treated immediately. Do not delay treatment because it could lead to further pain and discomfort for you. When the veins in the rectum or anus swell, a hemorrhoid develops. Symptoms could include swelling, redness and severe itching. There are different types of hemorrhoids. Your condition could be an internal or external hemorrhoid or a prolapsed or strangulated hemorrhoid. It is mostly seen in people over the age of fifty. There are several factors that you increase your chances of getting a hemorrhoid. Some of these factors are bad posture, strain during bowel movement, pregnancy, sever cough, lifting heavy objects, constipation and obesity.

If you want to get rid of hemorrhoids there are certain steps you can take such as drinking lots of liquids, exercising and eating fiber rich food. You must also reduce the time spent straining during bowel movements. It is also important to wash the area with cold water and soap. This reduces the irritation and you will feel better. After you wash you must dry the area completely and maybe use a hemorrhoid cream to soothe the skin. Warm sitz baths and using a cold compress will also help reduce the pain. Your posture is very important both for prevention and cure. Good posture will improve your muscle tone.

For hemorrhoid patients it is important to try and strenghten the vein walls. There are a variety of herbs that can be consumed in order to do this. Butcher’s broom, horse chestnut and bromelain are known to work wonders. Extracts from the Japanese pagoda tree is also a famous natural remedy for hemorrhoids. Anti-inflammatory treatments are best suited because they are not invasive and they offer relaxation for the affected muscles and veins. Natural astringents are also available such as Witch hazel and aloe vera. If you have hemorrhoids be sure to reduce your intake or coffee and cola. Avoiding cheese and other milk products will also reduce the irritation.

Instead of taking laxatives, try plantain and Psyllium seed husks to reduce the hardness of the stool. Bioflavonoids and other natural botanicals can give you much needed relief. To reduce pain and itching, there is a natural remedy called Mentha Piperita or peppermint. To reduce inflammation and to begin the healing process there is Aloe Vera which contains gibberlin and polysaccharides. Any natural treatment should first soothe the affected area. This will reduce the pain and inflammation thus bringing you some comfort. It must then heal the skin and bring the area back to its earlier condition. Choose a treatment that has astringent and antiseptic qualities to it. Finally it must repair the area by increasing blood flow and enhancing new tissue growth.

    I have had this painful condition on and off for several years. A high fiber diet and one type of fruit a day helps a lot. But for immediate relief, Preparation H is the best cream on the market. Sitting in a very warm bath is also very soothing and helps shrink the little buggers. Good luck!

    Hi,

    Just a bit of info for you…

    I have a lot of patients who eat good diets, but not necessarily APPROPRIATE diets there is a difference – everyone is different.

    The blood vessels from the intestines to the liver are known as the Portal System, and haemorrhoids are a sign that this system is over burdened and inflammed. You really need to consult someone who knows a lot about diet to get a diet that is appropriate for you.

    But now that you have haemorrhoids you have a best friend. Let me explain – the only time haemorrhoids will give you any trouble is when there is something wrong with your digestion and general health. They are what is known as a 'flagging disease'. Never get them operated on! Once you have them under control, they are an excelllent way of monitoring your general health and will be little bother to you.

    Hope this is a little encouragement for you.

    When veins in the lower rectum or around the anus become swollen and inflamed, the condition is called hemorrhoids. It's not always painful, visible or noticeable by touch.

    Several causes of hemorrhoids are known including genetic predisposition.

    * Straining from constipation
    * Pregnancy
    * Diarrhea

    Indications of Hemorrhoids

    Symptoms of hemorrhoids don't always show. However, bright red blood covering stool, or in the toilet bowl is usually an indication of internal hemorrhoids. When the internal hemorrhoid protrudes from the anus to the outside, it becomes irritated and painful.

    External hemorrhoids may be indicated by painful swelling around the anus or a hard area of tissue as a result of a blood clot.
    How to Avoid hemorrhoids

    To decrease the incidence of hemorrhoids, it is important to have a healthy diet including fiber and other organic foods. This will help to keep the stool soft and reduce the need to strain because of constipation.

    Start by cleansing. http://www.ghchealth.com/complete-cleansing-system.php

    This was the initial cleanse i performed when I began my weight loss program. I found that once i cleansed allot of aches and pains diminished. I hope this helps you start in the right direction.

    Hemorrhoid problems are part of the human condition just like back pain and is an unfortunate consequence of our upright posture which does not permit proper blood flow to the intestines and puts inordinate pressure on our anuses and bowels. Animals who walk on four legs simply don't have those problems.

    I use two fiber pills, two small stool softeners and try to get more fiber in my diet. I happen to love fresh pineapple and have a serving of that most days with lunch. I also eat an apple every day for breakfast and usually have oatmeal with a banana too. I am not into much fiber in my meals, don't eat bread, etc. I hate drinking water!

    I also get my fiber capsules, stool softeners and a cream from Target. The cream is the same as Preparation H and is half the price as are their fiber capsules and stool softeners.

    Application of raw, bruised onion is said to relieve the pain. Combining the flowers of elderberry and honeysuckle, pouring boiling water over them, then soaking a cloth and applying it while hot can also be effective.

    A diet rich in raw fruits and vegetables is your best bet for the future.

    The hemorrhoid cream that Michael's of Texas Co. makes is the best cream I and anyone I know w/ 'roids has ever used. If you can't seem to find it in a co-op or healthfood store, write to the company directly and see what their minimum order is. The stuff works incredibly well, is all natural, and doesn't seem to have any side effects. Comfrey salve and witch hazel applied to cotton pads will help too.
