Christmas soap ornaments (ice cream cone). Recipes?

    Posted under soap recipes

I made this when I was little. About 20 years ago. I need a easy recipe for soap ornaments to do with my little ones.

Life of the Party®, Soap Kettle/Ladle
Life of the Party®, 2-pound Clear Glycerin Soap Brick
Life of the Party®, Gold Colorizing Powder
Life of the Party®, Soap Dyes, Red and Green (or colors of your choice)
Life of the Party®, Vanilla Soap Fragrance
Life of the Party®, Oval Round Mold
    Ribbon, 3/8-inch Wide, Your Choice
Kitchen Knife, Spoon or Craft Stick for Mixing,
Rubbing Alcohol in a Spray Bottle
    Cutting Board
    Plastic Wrap
    Scissors
Cost of each project will vary depending on materials used.

Due to the seasonal nature of some merchandise, actual availability of some products pictured may vary.

Melting Instructions - Soap Kettle Method
Cut clear soap brick into cubes with knife and place into Soap Kettle.

Melt soap in Soap Kettle, following manufacturer’s instructions. Do not leave Soap Kettle unattended. Caution: Melted soap is hot! Note: Soap Kettle holds a maximum of 5 lb of soap (80 cubes) – see manufacturer’s instructions!

    Directions to prepare Ornaments:
You will need approximately ½ cup of melted soap to fill one of the round soap bar cavities of the soap mold. Be sure to prop the mold so that it doesn’t tip when you pour the melted soap into it.

Add a few drops of fragrance and red liquid colorant to melted soap, and stir with spoon or craft stick until well incorporated.

Pour into the mold filling one of the cavities completely and spray lightly with rubbing alcohol to remove air bubbles.

Let soap completely cool. Once it has set, remove from mold.

Cut the red soap bar in half and place a half piece into each of the two round mold cavities pushing the pieces down and to the side of the mold.

To prepare the gold color soap for the second part of this project, you will need ½ cup of melted soap.

Add a few drops of fragrance and gold color powder into melted soap and stir with spoon or craft stick until well incorporated.

Spray the red half pieces that are in the mold with rubbing alcohol. (This will help the layers adhere to one another.)

Slowly pour the gold colored soap along the side of the red half piece and spray with rubbing alcohol to remove air bubbles.

Let soap completely cool. Once soap has completely cooled, release from mold by applying constant, even pressure with thumbs to the backside of the mold.

Wrap each of the four bars in plastic wrap.

Take the two soap bars and place them together turning one so the colors are alternating.

Tie the two soap bars together with ribbon to create your very own Christmas soap ornament.

Speaking of ice cream cones,,,we use to take the regular cones in a cone shape,,,not the flat bottom ones,,,and spray them with that artificial snow that comes in a can,,,,make a handle from ribbon and fill them with candies,,,,,you can put a piece of tissue in the bottom so it won't take so much candy,,,,these look so cute on a tree,,,,a white cone with a green ribbon,,with candy canes,,,,so easy and so pretty…you could also add sparkle to the cone with glitter if you wanted to…….
